Doctoral student in parameter identification solutions for electric drives

Project description

This project is fully financed by our industrial partner ABB, which has priority in its intellectual property rights.

Motion accuracy requires fine-tuned regulators, which rely on a real-time-updated knowledge of the mechanical system. Moreover, as computational capabilities grow, electric drives can incorporate functionalities to improve health condition monitoring of the whole powertrain.

The project aims to define a commissioning and real-time identification procedure for the mechanical system without assumptions on its rank, and explore functionalities for condition monitoring of mechanical systems. The findings will be implemented and benchmarked on ABB industrial drives.

Third-cycle subject: Electrical Engineering

Supervision: Assoc. Prof. Luca Peretti and Prof. Xiongfei Wang.
