Department of People and Technology, Roskilde University, invites applications for a position as PhD of Social Psychology of Everyday life from  August 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position as PhD is limited to a period of 3 years.

Description of the PhD project
The title of the PhD project is PhD of Social Psychology of Everyday life, and we invite PhD proposals within a variety of themes relevant for the profile of the program – see below.

The Doctoral School
You will be enrolled as a PhD student at Doctoral School of People and Technology, in the PhD program of Social Psychology of Everyday.

Research in the PhD program Social Psychology of Everyday Life investigates psychological phenomena as they unfold in people’s everyday social, cultural, and material relations. The program builds on problem-orientated and transdisciplinary developments of theory, knowledge, and methodology rooted in research problems of societal life and connected to the everyday life of people. The program contributes to the rethinking of psychology as a science and to develop theories and methodologies which facilitate the investigation and understanding of the internal relationship between persons and the world. Such conceptual developments are crucial for the generation of new knowledge and insight into present societal challenges across different arenas in people’s everyday lives and can contribute to sustainable social and environmental transformation. Our research aims at developing theory through empirical exploration, focusing, for example, on everyday life of children and families, inequality, diversity, gender, migration, digitalization, working life, climate crisis, health, and psychosocial issues. Through conducting empirical practice-based projects and applying research in concrete developments of professional practices, we contribute to the development of general psychology from the vantage point of problem-orientation.
