Researcher in Oncology

The successful applicant will be part of a translational group whose research has the overall objective to prevent and alleviate chronic complications that may arise after radiotherapy treatment for cancer in the pelvic area. We have two ongoing clinical projects, one where we follow changes in the intestinal mucosa and the expression of bowel symptoms after exposure to radiotherapy, and another where we determine the impact of diet on intestinal health during and after pelvic radiotherapy. 

Duties 

The work involves laboratory work such as multiomics and molecular analyses of tissue and blood samples, as well as the execution of experimental models of pelvic radiotherapy. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the collection of human intestinal tissue and questionnaire data, as well as manuscript preparation and publication. 

Qualifications 

Applicants must possess a PhD in a relevant field, preferably with a strong background in radiation biology and/or gastrointestinal biology, along with proficiency in various molecular analysis techniques. A high level of proficiency in spoken and written English is necessary. Moreover, great emphasis is placed on social skills to maintain positive group dynamics. 

Employment 

The employment is limited (temporary) for 8 months, full-time and is placed at the Institute of Clinical Sciences. Starting date; As soon as possible
