Project description
In a research program granted by the Swedish Heart-Lung foundation, we aim to discover new pathophysiological pathways for the three common cardiovascular diseases, myocardial infarction, stroke and heart failure, by use of proteomics and metabolomics. Already collected data in several population-based epidemiological studies will be used; ULSAM, PIVUS, POEM EpiHealth, SCAPIS and UK biobank. A focus will be on the genetic basis for different adipose tissue compartments and its role for cardiovascular diseases.

You will have one main supervisor, but also work with other research groups at Uppsala University. You will be placed at “epihubben” together with 30 other researchers in the epidemiological field. A very creative environment.
