Postdoctoral Fellowship in Quantum Optics and Quantum Information

Niels Bohr Institute
Faculty of Science

University of Copenhagen

The Niels Bohr Institute invites applications for a 2-year Post-doctoral Fellowship. The fellowship is intended for outstanding early career scientists whose research expertise falls within quantum optics and quantum information science: non-classical states of light, light-matter interactions and interfaces, quantum sensing, quantum communication, quantum computing with light and matter and exploration of the same topics and mechanisms with microwaves and acoustic waves. The candidate will work on theory in the mentioned topics, but applications are welcome from scientists with both theoretical and experimental background who can document elements of modelling, simulations or theoretical/numerical analyses.

The work is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation Semper Ardens project “QCooL”, and is led by Professor Klaus Mølmer at the Niels Bohr Institute. The aim of the project is to contribute proposals and analyses for exploration in experiments. Collaboration with the  QCooL co-founding partners Professor Sebastian Hofferberth at University of Bonn and Professor Thomas Pohl at TU-Vienna  as well as with the many related quantum activities (Hy-Q, Quantop, QDev, NQCP, QMath, UCPH Quantum Hub) at the University of Copenhagen are strongly encouraged.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within quantum optics and quantum information as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
