LINKÖPING UNIVERSITY
Hereby advertises two positions as

PhD student (licentiate) in Fluid and Mechatronic Systems
formally based at the Department of Management and Engineering.

Duties
The work will focus on utilizing the opportunities for hydraulic components and systems that an electric primary drive unit creates for construction machines. Within the project, two doctoral students will be employed with different focus areas. One PhD student will concentrate on the integration of electric motor and hydraulic pump units, a so-called E-pump, with focus on the hydraulic unit. The second PhD student will focus on the hydraulic system architecture and control strategies at the system level. The research for both doctoral students includes theoretical and experimental studies in hydraulics, electronics, mechanical design and control theory.

As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.

Qualifications
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.

Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A licentiate student may not be employed during a period exceeding four years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of two years´ full time research training.

Starting date 
By agreement.

Salary
The salary for PhD students is based on the department’s salary scale.
