Postdoctoral fellowship: Experimental quantum information at Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen and the Center for Quantum Devices (UCPH)

The Center for Quantum Devices (QDev) is a basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation with ongoing activities in materials science, experimental physics, nanoelectronics, and condensed matter theory. Information about QDev can be found at qdev.dk.

Microsoft Quantum–Copenhagen is a research center sponsored by Microsoft Corporation aimed at developing hardware for topological quantum computing. Information about the full Microsoft Quantum program can be found at microsoft.com/en-us/quantum/.

The position
The Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen are seeking applications for one or more Microsoft Quantum Postdoctoral Fellows to experimentally investigate topological matter and quantum information. Applicants should have a PhD in Physics with relevant experimental experience. Research involves nanofabrication, cryogenics using a cryofree dilution refrigerator, rf and microwave electronics, data analysis, interaction with theoretical physicists, and demonstrated aptitude for scientific writing.  

The position is open from 1 December 2019 or by arrangement. The duration is two years with possible extension upon mutual agreement.

Terms of employment
The postdoctoral fellowship is at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), with collaborative teams in Delft Technical University (NL), University of Sydney (AUS), Purdue University (USA), UC Santa Barbara (USA), and Microsoft, Redmond, Washington (USA).
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
Salary starts at 405k DKK plus pension contribution up to 69k DKK. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
