The Institute accommodates study programmes, freestanding courses and commissioned education at a basic and an advanced level within the disciplines Nursing, Radiography, Reproductive and Perinatal Health, Health Care Pedagogics and postgraduate education in Health Care Sciences. A number of research groups are also based at the Institute. The research profile is person-centred care. There is currently one research centre located at the institute – The Centre for person-centred care (CPCC).

GPCC is an interdisciplinary research centre, established in January 2010, with the support of the Swedish government’s strategic investment in healthcare research. Around 40 research project are currently in process involving person-centeredness in several long-term conditions and the organisation of care.

In order to strengthen the development of methodology, GPCC is searching for a post doctor for the development of person-centred measurement tools and indicators. The project is part of an international collaboration.

Activities

You will be participating in a research project for the development, translation and psychometric evaluation of measurement and evaluation tools in relation to person-centre care, as well as being involved in the research centre’s seminars and collaborative work. No more than 20% of the position will concern non-research related tasks such as teaching, supervision and pedagogical development work.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant knowledge area is compulsory for a position as post doctor. Since a position as post doctor aims to give the candidate an opportunity to strengthen and develop their scholarly proficiency, we aim for those who have a PhD degree dating back no more than 3 years counting from the last date of application

Experience from person-centred care research and measurement tools is especially meritorious.

Scientific expertise has the greatest significance for the position. The main basis for the level of scientific expertise will primarily be based on the doctoral thesis and any other publications mentioned.  

Good oral and written skills in Swedish and English is a requirement. Personal characteristics such as collaboration skills, flexibility and being able to work and complete work tasks independently are also meritorious. The applicant’s personal characteristics concerning his/her ability to collaborate both internally and externally in order to complete the described tasks will be taken into consideration when assessing the his/her suitability for the position.  

Employment

The position is based on a temporary contract at full time for 24 months. You will be placed at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences. The starting date for the position will be set as agreed.
