A 3-year PhD position is available in the section forProtein Science & Biotherapeutics at the Department of Biotechnology andBiomedicine (DTU Bioengineering).
The successful applicant will work within the research group ‘Protease NetworkDegradomics’ headed by Professor Ulrich auf dem Keller. In our researchgroup, we apply and develop advanced positional proteomics workflows toidentify proteases, elucidate their interactions and determine their substratesin inflammation, repair and regeneration. With a major focus on the skin, weaim at elucidating interdependent proteolytic pathways and their disturbance indisease to provide a basis for the development of novel strategies fordiagnostics and therapeutic intervention.
Responsibilities and tasks
The newly recruited PhD student will work with a teamof postdocs and PhD students and in close collaboration with the DTU ProteomicsCore the PhD student will to identify and characterize proteolytic signaturesas markers of wound progression by degradomics analyses of clinical woundexudates from patients with normal and impaired healing.
Candidates should have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or asimilar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.

Salary andappointment terms
The appointment will be basedon the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of ProfessionalAssociations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. Theperiod of employment is 3 years.
