This will involve: (i) development of new thermomechanical pavement models based on a combination of analytic, semi-analytic, and numerical techniques; (ii) coding of a Snowless analysis tool that will allow in silico examination of the heating solution for a given pavement system under diverse loading and environmental conditions; and (iii) design and analysis of full-scale field experiments for tool validation and calibration, and for refinement of underlying models.
Candidates should have a Master degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a similar degree with an equivalent academic level. Especially invited to submit an application are candidates with background in pavement mechanics or heat transfer modeling (or both), and background with semi-analytic solutions or finite element methods (or both). Some knowledge in pavement construction, embedded sensing, and signal analysis is beneficial. Candidates should be highly motivated, eager to seek and share knowledge, and capable of independent work as well as group work. Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 3 years.
