Research Assistant with a focus on Biotech and Health Industries

Copenhagen Business School invites applications for the position as research assistant within the field of biotech and health industries at the Department of Strategy and Innovation. The position is part time (24 hours per week) and available from July 2019 until July 2022.   

The Department of Strategy and Innovation is a department with app. 90 members of staff. This includes about 55 faculty members (professors, associate professors, tenure track assistant professors), 7 administrative staff, and 30 members of staff who are hired on temporary contracts as research assistants, post docs or PhD students.    

The teaching and research focus of the department lies within strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship and international business. The department’s research is generally cross-disciplinary. Faculty members have backgrounds in management, economics, sociology and economic geography. The theoretical foundation for research in these areas is eclectic, combining strategy, innovation, and/or internationalization theory with insights from economics, sociology, psychology, and economic geography.    

Core research areas of the Department include topics such as knowledge transfer, absorptive capacity, open innovation, university-industry interaction, outsourcing, internationalization, international management, patenting and licensing, high-tech entrepreneurship, firm founder characteristics, strategic human resource management, top management teams, social networks, labor mobility, innovation, team formation etc.    
The position is allocated to the department’s activities with the area of biotech and health industries. The department host two degree programs within this field; MSc in Business Administration and Bioentrepreneurship and MSc in Business Administration and Innovation in Health Care. The position has a focus on developing and supporting the MSc in Business Administration and Bioentrepreneurship.

Qualifications 
The successful candidate must hold a relevant master ’s degree or equivalent qualifications and should be able to document the following qualifications:   

  • Knowledge of and/or work experience from the biotech and health industry.  
  • Knowledge about big bioindustry companies (including pharmaceutical companies). 
  • Knowledge of the mentioned master programs.  
  • Knowledge of the degree structure at CBS. 
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). 

Other qualifications should include:

  • Good communication skills.  
  • The ability to lead and facilitate various processes and projects.   
  • Enjoy working with many different people, including students, administrative staff, researchers and teachers.   

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Central Academic Organization.    

Note that this is a part-time (24 hours per week) time limited (3 years) position.

Recruitment procedure
