Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering a PhD scholarship in Synthetic Peptides for Oral Delivery commencing 1 March 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Description of the scientific environment
Our research is at the interface between synthetic chemistry, biology, physics, and biomedicine. The starting point for our research is chemical synthesis, peptide chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, organic chemistry on proteins, or chemistry on nanoparticles and surfaces. We are developing new, general chemical tools that enable us to contribute to medicinal chemistry and chemical biology.
The project will aim at developing new, synthetic peptides with chemical modifications that will make them suitable for oral delivery. The project will include (1) design and chemical synthesis of new amino acids and dipeptides, (2) incorporation of these into peptides by solid-phase peptide synthesis, (3)
