A position as PhD student is available at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark, in Professor Carsten Uhd Nielsen’s research group “Drug Transporters in ADME”. The PhD position is available from 1 September 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of three years. Application deadline: 15 June 2018.
The research project will focus on the role of drug transporters and the modulation hereof in formulation strategies to optimize drug delivery for overcoming cellular barrier functions in oral drug delivery or drug delivery to cancer cells.
We are seeking a highly talented, creative, motivated and hard-working candidate with a Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related subjects. The successful applicant should have some knowledge and experimental experience in areas such as cell culture studies, animal studies, physico-chemical characterization of particulate drug delivery systems, with related analytical techniques. Prior academic publication experience will be considered an advantage. The candidate should be proficient in English and possess good interpersonal skills and find it natural to collaborate.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement of 10 November 2015 on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
